Statkevіch suggests that BIB should join European Coalition

The Belarusian independent Bloc has not taken a decision whether to join the European Coalition at the today’s meeting. This is the result of the debates of BIB members announced by Zmitser Dashkevich who was the chairperson at the meeting. He has informed the head of the European Coalition and of “People’s Hramada” Mikola Statkevich about it. Mikola Statkevich has explained to ERB that BIB members did not seem to reach an agreement needed to include a new member in the bloc.
Mikola Statkevich: “That coalition is strange – three organizations were sitting next to each other and kept casting angry glances at the other 5 organizations sitting on the other edge of the table. I think that the majority of them liked the idea of the merge but at least one and maximum three organizations voted contra”.

Furthermore, Statkevich noted that the European Coalition wanted equal rights for the merge and later they just wanted to join the BIB. However, they didn’t manage to do it. That is why he suggested his own way out.

Mikola Statkevich: “I thanked them and suggested to unite in the European Coalition. I said that the BIB could join the European Coalition because there would not be any delay about it. They can join together or separately”.

However, he says he has not received an answer to his suggestion.
