"Spy" Haidukou trial starts behind closed doors

Tatsyana Sevyarynets has informed this from Vitsebsk to Euroradio.

"They have admitted no one - here are the lawyers, the opposition activists, journalists. Representative of the European Commission Rudolph Richards also couldn't go in although he had a diplomatic passport. Andrei's aunt came here, we talked for a while..."

Mrs. Sevyarynets says that they were informed in the court that the trial had started. However, no one explained who took the decision that the trial should be closed and under which circumstances.

Euroradio has learnt that Andrei Haidukou's mother Volha didn't go to Vitsebsk today - it wasn't known for sure whether the trial would start on June 12, till the very last moment. Recently, there also appeared information that Andrei Haidukou was ill. According to Tatsyana Sevyarynets, yesterday Andrei's lawyer met with his family and told he felt bad - he had fever of about 39 C. However, the prison administration did not allow a parcel with medicines.
