Press service of Belarusian Trade Union Federation: Basques struggle for freedom

The Belarusian Trade Union Federation is trying to establish relations with the country of Basques although it cannot be found on the political map of the world now (it is a territory belonging to Spain). A press-release of the BTUF published on September 3 testifies to it. It informs about a visit of members of the European regional bureau of the World Trade Union Federation to Belarus. The head of the Federation Leanid Kozin has met representatives of Austria, Cyprus, Spain and the country of Basques.
ERB phoned the BTUF press service to find out whether the information was true. This is what a press secretary Volha said:

"We all know that there is no such a country but a person representing it did arrive. They live in Spain but they think that their country is free although it is not recognized”.

The press secretary claimed that there was no misunderstanding between representatives of Spain and the country of Basques during their visit to Minsk:

"There were no disputes. They did not represent any political interests; they represented the interest of laborers and of trade union members”.

Let us note that the delegation members of the European regional bureau of the World Trade Union Federation will stay in our country until September 6.
