No legal reason to forbid Nyaklyayeu to take part in elections

Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu can run for Belarusian President, claimed the press secretary of the Tell the Truth! campaign Yulya Rymasheuksaya  in an interview with BelaPAN. She has refuted the ideas of the “Us” Internet edition. Its journalists referred to the Election Code according to which a Belarusian citizen over the age of 35 who has lived at least 10 years in Belarus prior to elections can become Belarusian President. According to Rymasheuskaya, Nyaklyayeu did not emigrate anywhere. He did live in Poland and Finland but he returned to Belarus regularly and did not lose connection with it. Zyanon Paznyak was in the same situation in 2001. The leader of the Christian Conservative Party BNF was registered in Belarus so he lived in the country from the legal point of view.
