The majority of corrupt officials live in Mahileu Region. Brest Region is the least corrupt
Almost half Belarusians think that corruption and squandering of state property are the key hindrance to the country’s successful development. The results of August survey conducted by a sociological centre “Mirror-Info” testify to it.
Almost 46% of respondents think it is the key obstacle to the economic development of Belarus. More than 35% think that officials are to blame for it while 27.5% think that people “have simply forgotten how to work”.
According to the survey, Mahileu Region is the most corrupt. 57% inhabitants of the region accuse corrupt officials of impeding the economic development of the country. The least people dissatisfied with officials live in Brest Region – 29%, reports “Charter-97”.
