Lukashenka issues decree No 666

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenka signed his decree No 666 which approves the plan of legislation activities in 2008, reports the Interfax news agency referring to the press office of the head of the state.
The decree envisages drafting of nine new legislations, including the law on compatriots living abroad; the law on the entry and exit of citizens; the law on the foundations of the state's youth policy; the law on e-documents and e-signatures; the law on punitive measures against alcoholics and drug addicts; the law on the status of military servicemen.

In addition, 31 legislations are to be tabled at the parliament, including the law on land improvement; the law on the use of atomic energy; the law on commodity exchanges; the law on forensic examinations.

It is also planned to introduce amendments and additions to the laws on foreign currency regulation and controls and to several other legislations. The concept of a draft law on agricultural production will also be developed.
