Alyaksandr Lukashenka conducted a meeting dedicated to the IMF $3bn credit on December 1. The credit may be given for 10 years at the interest of 2.28%, PM Andrei Kabyakou announced. This is beneficial for Belarus, the President said.

The IMF financing is a good variant. “Nobody, even Russians, can give us a credit at such an interest. It is beneficial,” BELTA quotes the state leader.

Belarus is interested in the IMF credit taking the national interests into account, Alyaksandr Lukashenka stressed again. The IMF mission worked in Belarus in November, Euroradio reported. The Belarusian government and the International Monetary Fund will continue working on a new programme, the mission announced. Lukashenka expressed a desire to receive a credit without delay back then. He is ‘not allergic for the fund’s demands’, he noted. However, the Belarusian authorities will never agree on the worsening of the social protection of the population, the Belarusian leader stressed.
