За верасень золатавалютныя рэзервы Беларусі павялічыліся на 54,2 млн долараў

In September, foreign exchange reserves of Belarus, if counted using the IMF methodology, increased by 54.2 million. According to preliminary data of the National Bank, on October 1, they amounted to 4 billion 628.6 million dollars in the local currency equivalent.

If the calculations are based on the national procedure, the gold and currency reserves increased by 17.7 million USD. Based on this method, the gold reserves of Belarus as of October 1 were 5 billion 42 million USD in the local currency equivalent.

According to the National Bank, this can be explained by the funds received from the sale of bonds denominated in foreign currencies by the the National Bank and the Finance Ministry. Additional support to the gold reserves came from the proceeds of the export duties' sale of oil products. In addition, the National Bank bought the foreign currency at the auction of the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange.

According to the National Bank, the gold reserves were unfavorably affected by the payments of the external and internal foreign currency loans, as well as a decrease in the value of gold in the international market of precious metals.
