Belarusian footballers sent to collect stones

Footballers of the Torpedo-BelAZ club from Zhodzina recently spent a day in the fields of "Pershamaiski" collective farm removing stones. The newspaper "Minskaya Prauda" reports that representatives of the coaching and administrative staff, along with the players, carried stones. They filled four trailers with stones. They did it in one day and in the heat. It is not reported how the players were persuaded to go to the field. The article says only that "the Torpedo players decided to make their modest contribution to the country's food security".

"Pershamaiski" is one of BelAZ's assets.  The author of the article also expressed hope that "work therapy will help the team to break the winless streak in official matches. The next match of Torpedo-BelAZ is scheduled for Saturday. The team will play "Belshina" in the championship of Belarus. Currently, the Zhodzina team is in the third place in the league.
