Yanukevich: Popular Front party should get ready for peaceful protests

The Party of the Popular Front should begin preparing for peaceful protests after offcial results of the presidential election are announced, Popular Front leader Aliaksei Yanukevich said on Saturday furing the meeting of the party's council. This year's presidential election is not free or democratic, while all "elements of improving conditions for this election" are "just a screen of liberalization", he said. Since there are very few opposition members in local electoral commissions, it means that "like during the previous elections, the vote-count will be controlled by authorities", Yanukevich is quoted by Belepan news agency as saying.

The Populr Front party leader forecasts that Central Elections Commission will announce "70 percents of votes in support of incumbent Aliaksandr Lukashenka and 1-5 percent for the other candidates".
