Van Rompuy speaks to Warsaw students about Belarus

President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy has made a speech for students in the University of Warsaw. In the meantime he noted that the European Union was discussing the way it should contact Belarus. The European official claimed that our country’s participation in the Eastern Partnership summit would depend on the behaviour of the Belarusian authorities.

According to van Rompuy, the EU is disappointed about the events that took place in Belarus on December 19 and later. Repressions are unacceptable for Europe, stressed the President of the European Union. That is why the EU-Belarus relations and policy will be reconsidered, he informed.
