Ukrainian Ambassador in Minsk recalled for consultations

Director of the Information Policy Department of the Ukrainian Ministry for Foreign Affairs Yevgeniy Perebiynis announced it at a briefing on March 24, UNIAN reports. Ukraine also sent a diplomatic note to Belarus. The Belarusian President’s statements contradict the international legislation norms and the position of most states that condemn Russia’s annexation of Crimea, the note says.

The Belarusian leader made a number of loud statements after voting on March 23. He claimed that Crimea was de-facto part of Russia. “Its recognition or non-recognition will not change anything,” Lukashenka added.
