Tatarstan to buy potatoes, grain and mixed fodder in Belarus

Belarus may become the main supplier of potatoes to Tatarstan. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov claimed it after a meeting with the Belarusian Prime Minister Syarhei Sidorski in Minsk on August 12. BelaPAN reports that, according to Minnikhanov, Belarus and Tatarstan have agreed on the supplies of 40 thousand tons of potatoes. The amount of supplies may reach 100 thousand tons in the future.

The President of Tatarstan has also claimed that the republic also needs fodder grain and mixed fodder in connection with the wild fires and drought in Russia. He expects to import from 100 to 500 tons of the products from Belarus.
