Supreme Court returns Alyaksei Tumilovich on list of deputy contenders

The Supreme Court of Belarus has settled the grievance of a deputy contender Alyaksei Turovich who was refused registration. The famous actor and producer was not registered due to the fact that he had not declared the car he had sold in 2004.

Alyaksei Turovich noted that he had not expected such a decision in an interview with ERB.

Alyaksei Turovich: "The prosecutor said I could not run for deputy yesterday. So I had no hope. Then the result turned out to be positive all of a sudden”.

The secretary of the Central Election Commission Mikalai Lazavik has refused to comment of the decision taken by the Supreme Court. At the same time he notes that the deputy contender registered in Minsk constituency #102 will receive the sum of money allocated for his election campaign and will receive free air time on TV. His programme will also be printed in a state edition.

Mikalai Lazavik: “The decision of the Supreme Court is final. We obey it and we will fulfill it”.

By the way, the 8th channel has already given “free air time” to Alyaksei Turovich. It will demonstrate three of his films soon: “Sonny” – on September 10, “Prison for godchild’s father” – on September 12th and “Letter to Fellini” on September 14th. The candidate is an actor and the producer of the films. He has played more than 40 parts and has directed 4 films of his own. Alyaksei Turovich is famous because of such films as “Son for father”, “Franz+Palina”, “Anastasiya Slutskaya” and “the Colour of love”.
