Super-high-speed railway to be built in Belarus

A super-high-speed railway is planned to be built in Belarus in the future. The speed of trains will reach 300 kph. The deputy head of the Belarusian Railway Uladzimir Lapitski informed about it on Thursday. According to him, the President of Belarus has signed a decree allocating some land for the super-high-speed railway.

He noted that the rout of the new railway will be Moscow-Minsk-Brest with a prospect of integration with Western European railways. But it is difficult to say when it happens because the project needs serious investment. At the moment railwaymen are trying to increase the movement speed on the route Brest-Moscow to 160 kph.
