Somali pirates take warship for cargo ship

Three Somali pirates were killed during an attempt to seize a warship they had taken for a cargo ship. Several pirates on a speed-boat caught up with the warship of the Kenyan naval forces that was patrolling the district and tried to board it. However, soldiers repulsed them. The pirates who were not hit by bullets managed to escape.
The number of cargo ships hijacked by Somali pirates has increased recently. Thus, there were 406 attacks in 2009. The majority of them occurred near Somali. According to different sources, Somali pirates hold from 438 to 570 people and almost three dozen ships hostage, report information agencies.
