Russian journalist arrested for three days in Orsha

Human rights activist Vasil Leuchanka who was present at the hearing has informed Euroradio on air that the journalist was made to get off his “Chelyabinsk-Brest” train at night in Orsha. Transport policemen informed that they had received an anonymous phone call. They were told that forbidden unlawful drugs were being transported.
Apparently, no drugs were found on “the suspect” in the police office. However, the policemen that accompanied the Russian from his train claim that he was using bad language and shouting on his way to the police office. There was the reason for the accusation of petty hooliganism and Orsha Court has agreed with it.

In protest of “such a trial” the Russian journalist has announced that he will go on hunger strike during his detention, says Leuchankau.

Leuchankau: "Right after the court had pronounced the decision, he claimed: “I refuse to eat in protest against such a trial”.
