Representative of European Parliament condemns coercive draft

The head of the European Parliament’s delegation on connections with Belarus Yazep Pratasevich demands that representatives of the country’s government should explain the coercive draft of youth activists as soon as possible. It is said in the statement distributed by the European deputy on January 30.

Y.Pratasevіch also “condemns” the coercive draft of Franak Vyachorka, Ivan Shyla and Dzmitry Fedaruk.

The politician has urged the European Commission and the EU Council to demand explanations from Belarus “to guarantee that the actions would not spoil the dialogue between Belarus and the European Union”.

This is the second statement of Y.Pratasevich pronounced over the last few days. He expressed his concern about “the practice of coercive draft” on January 26. “The practice arouses serious doubt in the fact that the universal duty is not used as a means of political repressions against opposition activists”, - was said in the statement.
