Special forces broke into neighbours' flat during Kanavalau’s arrest

"

"They rang the doorbell of flat #51 at first. The neighbours opened the door and they ordered everyone to lie down on the floor. Then they understood their mistake and asked which flat was rented there. The neighbours replied that it was flat #50. They hit the door with something and it was destroyed in an instant. The house was surrounded by policemen with dogs to prevent them from jumping out of the windows”.

Vasil Velich, owner of the flat where Dzmitry Kanavalau shot for terrorism was detained, showed us the new door. The old door was burst in and all the three locks were wrenched out.

The owner of the flat is indignant at the real estate company “ArmirA” - it deceived him and does not want to cover the expenses now.

As Euroradio has found out, Vasil Velich leased the flat to Mr. Charvyakou for one year in May 2010. However, the citizen ... leased the flat to other people with the help of “ArmirA”.

"He (Charvyakou – Euroradio’s note) came with a woman. He said that she was his civil partner. We signed everything. I paid 2 base amounts a month and it continued for year. I wanted to lease the flat without any contract at first but then I started worrying. I thought that I would have to cover expenses if they flooded someone and I decided to lease the flat legally. He paid on time. I visited the flat after the first month but then he said that it was inconvenient. To cut it short, he did not want me to come”.

Vasil Uladzimiravich has received a reply from the tax inspectorate. They claim that Chavyakou lived in the flat. However, he case papers say that Kanavalau rented the flat with the help of a real estate company. The director of the company and Charvyakou refute any connection.

"I have 40 kilos of bed linen now. They brought a bed there to accommodate more people”, - complains the owner. By the way, there are stamps on the bed linen like in a hostel. According to the neighbours, many people lived in the flat, there were different inhabitants every week. Kanavalau was the last person who rented the flat in “ArmirA”.

Vasil Velich leased the flat for 270 dollars. The private unitary enterprise “ArmirA” is still working – we have found its ads offering flats for 15-30 dollars a day in a newspaper.

The check-up conducted by the tax inspectorate is still in process. Meanwhile, the owner has repaired the flat at his own expense. He wanted to sell the flat but refused from the idea after the repairs.

"It was disgusting! I do no know what they cooked there. The cooker hood was blocked up with dirt!”

Read about Kanavalau’s experimental testimony later and look at the photo of the screen where the bomb was hidden.

They used a lock to close the cupboard to preserve the bed linen – temporary inhabits did not have access to it.
