Sannikau and Bandarenka participate in a press-conference in Warsaw

A press-conference dedicated to the release of political prisoners Andrei Sannikau and Zmitser Bandarenka took place in the Belarusian House in Warsaw on Monday. Their allies Zmitser Barodka, Uladzimir Kobets and Natallia Radzina, as well as Bandarenka's daughter Julia, took part in the conference. They stated in their speeches that the release of political prisoners had become possible due to the economic sanctions imposed by the EU. So, the policy of sanctions should be continued until all the rest political prisoners are free, in their opinion.

Our correspondent Ihar Askirka has informed live on air on Euroradio that Sannikau and Bandarenka took part in the conference via Skype. They noted that their release happened because of the Belarusians' solidarity with them and external political pressure in Belarus. Apart from that, according to Sannikau, he still doesn't feel a free person as he does not live in a free country, and his wife Iryna Khalip is not allowed even to leave Minsk. Bandarenka stated that psychological tortures had been used against him. However, the pressure on Sannikau was much stronger. In the end of the video-call the politicians stated that they would struggle for the release of all the rest political prisoners.
