Russian HR defender: Ban Ki-moon should have called Lukashenka

According to Chairman of the Russian civil association "Regional civil initiative - right for life and civil dignity" Victar Kohan-Yasny, this is a usual order accepted in the cases of appealing against death sentences in the UNO's institutions.

Victar Kohan-Yasny: "In the situation with Kanavalau and Kavalyou, the UNO Secretary General should have secretly called Lukashenka and ask him to postpone execution of the death sentences. He should have insisted, demanded. It is totally possible that this indeed happened, as the phone calls of the UNO Secretary General are kept in secret".

This order is called "good offices", the human rights defender clarifies. Euroradio couldn't confirm whether Ban Ki-moon had indeed called Alyaksandr Lukashenka yet.
