Police lessens sum of claim against Bruzgi strikers
One of the strikers - Valery - has informed this on air to Euroradio.
According to him, the police now demand that the participants of the action should pay them about 4 million roubles. Previously, they wanted to get 10 million. The strikers should pay this money because their strike was dispersed by the riot police.
Let us remind you, the trial is taking place in the Lenin district court of Hrodna. 36 participants of the spontaneous demonstration which took place on June 12 at the border-crossing point "Bruzgi" are standing trial today. They protested against limitations of foreign trips and import of goods, introduced by the authorities. Lawyer Aliaksandr Birylau defends the strikers' rights in court now. It is not excluded that the presence of the lawyer forced the police to lessen the sum of the claim. Hrodna customs also lessened the sum from 700 thousand to 52 thousand Br.
