Nyaklyayeu, Sannіkau and Mіhalevіch not planning to write to Lukashenka

A former presidential candidate Vital Rymasheuski was released on recognizance on the New Year’s night. According to some sources, the BCD leader “wrote an explanatory note to Lukashenka”. Vital has not commented on it yet.

“I have not seen the text, so no comment, - said the press secretary of “Belarusian Christian Democracy” Dzyanis Sadouski to Euroradio. – There will be a press conference organized in the office of the BPF at 11 a.m. tomorrow and Vital Anatoliyevich will answer this question himself. He has asked us to present it this way”.

Meanwhile, Rymasheuski’s close friends and relatives got to know about his release on the Internet on January 3. Sadouski refused to comment why the fact had been kept a secret for three days.

Mikalai Statkevich’s lawyer Tatstsyana Stankevich has told Euroradio that she discussed the possibility of writing to Lukashenka with her client. However, the former candidate declined her suggestion.

Tatstsyana Stankevich: “I told him it was possible. He knows that others have written such notes. But he did not express a desire to do it. He does not want it, he will not do it”.

According to Pavel Sapelka protecting Andrei Sannikau, they have not discussed it yet. The lawyer has not had an opportunity to talk to the politician confidentially. Sapelka will only be able to meet Sannikau on Wednesday or Thursday.

Pavel Sapelka: “Naturally, we will discuss the situation but I think that all decisions concerning the case should be taken by the investigator or the prosecutor. If we decide to appeal for something, it will be done in accordance with the legal procedure”.

According to the lawyer, he will not be the initiator of writing a note to the state leader.

Pavel Sapelka added that Minsk City Court would consider the appeal lodged by him and by Ales Mihalevich’s lawyer one of the following days. They were trying to appeal the decision of Minsk Central District Court that had not allowed releasing the two candidates on recognizance.

Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu’s lawyer Tamara Sidarenka has not seen her client since December 29 so they have not discussed the possibility of addressing Lukashenka. However, they have written a few letters to the Attorney General asking to release the candidate due to his health condition.

The fact that one more person suspected of “the organization of mass disorders”  - the head of Nyaklyayeu’s election team Andrei Dzmitryyeu - had been released on recognizance from the KGB detention centre became known on the morning of January 3. According to him, he did not expect to be released.
