Mikalaj Lazavik not to attend OSCE conference in Vienna
Anyway, the CEC Secretary got an official invitation, the same as CEC Chairperson Lidziya Yarmoshyna.
Lazavik has confirmed in a conversation with the BelaPAN news agency that both him and the CEC Chairperson received invitations to the conference "Democratic elections and observation thereof" organized by OSCE. The conference will take place on July 12-13 in Vienna.
Lidziya Yarmoshyna will go there. Mikalaj Lazavik will lead the Central Election Committee in view of the upcoming election to the House of Representatives while she is absent.
According to Lazavik, the CEC administration used to take part in such conferences before. However, after they had been included into the "black lists" of the European Union, there started problems with such journeys. Lazavik says that he could not take part in the meeting of the central election committees' heads in Moldova last year.
This year, in his opinion, the OSCE directive board invited the heads of the Belarusian CEC because they want to get invitation to observe the election in Belarus.
