Mercury found in BSU wash-stand
The incident occurred in the building hosting the Department of Radiophysics and Computer Technologies (Kurchatou Street, 5).
Press secretary of the Emergency Control Ministry Vital Navitski has informed Euroradio about it.
Navitski: "Sanitary technicians have found mercury in a wash-stand in BSU. Rescuers have gathered about 100 grams of the liquid metal. Demercuration is in process now. Our chemists are working there – the republican special team. There are no victims”.
According to Navitski, studies may be resumed right after the demercuration. However, it will be up to the university to decide.
