Mahilyou police blocks journalists before action
BelaPAN journalist Ales Asiptsou has informed Euroradio about it on air.
The journalist says that a plainclothes man watching him appeared near his house at about 6 p.m. The stranger disappeared when Mr. Asiptsou photographed him. Then his two acquaintances arrived and told him there were two strangers near the “Euroopt” shop. They had sheets with the inscription “Asiptsou” and his photo.
According to the reporter, not only representatives of mass media are being blocked. Mahilyou democratic activists have received the following SMS today: “Stay home if you do not want to get detained”.
Ales Asiptsou thinks that it is connected with Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s visit to Mahilyou Province. That is why the police do not want any actions in the regional centre today.
