Investigation against frontier guard who let teddy bears in completed

The military man is accused of breaking the rules of holding the frontier guarding service, informs interfax.by with a reference to the Investigatory Committee.

According to the investigators, it has been established that at about 6 a.m. on July 4, the nationals of Sweden crossed the Belarusian-Lithuanian border on the light-motor plane near the town Baranavichy, Iuye district.

The Swedes threw teddy bears over Minsk and Ivyanets. The bears held paper posters urging for the freedom of word in Belarus. The KGB detained photographer Anton Surapin who published the photos of the teddy bears landing, and real estate agent Basharymau, who rented accommodation to the Swedes. Several weeks later they were released from the KGB prison. Heads of the Frontier Committee and the Air Forces lost their jobs after the scandal.
