Group of policemen and workers of meat processing plant convicted in Homel
29 people were mentioned in the case considered by Homel regional court.
The former general manager of the
enterprise, his deputies, directors of manufactures, economists, workers and
three policemen appeared on the convicts' bench. According to the information
provided by BelaPAN, they were members of an organized group which stole
products of the meat processing plant with breaking of technology which led to
deterioration of the production's quality, in the period from 2004 till 2009.
The losses made 263 million roubles.
The former general manager
was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment with property confiscation. Other
employees of the enterprise were sentenced to 3-7,5 years of imprisonment, a
group of workers (loaders, masters, stockmen etc.) got limitation of freedom
for the terms 1,5-4 years. Three workers of the meat processing plant were
considered innocent, and three more got under the amnesty.
The policemen were punished with imprisonment for the terms from 3,5 till 4 years, and fines for the sum of 10 million roubles.
