Freedom Day organizers:Those who want creativity should to do it themselves

"Our creativity is that the people should feel personal responsibility for the country's destiny. The organizers granted a permitted action. People can buy flags or make them. Anyone is capable of that. Every person who is going there can draw a poster... Those who suggest creativity are free to do it themselves", - one of the Freedom Day organizers Victar Ivashkevich suggests.

The city authorities permitted an action which will start near the Academy of Sciences and continue as a rally and a demonstration in the Bangalore Square. The organizers stated in the application that the number of participants would not surpass 1 000 people - if an application for a mass event is filed in the name of a physical person, more participants are not allowed, in accordance with the law.

No one will chase extra people away.

"In case the number of participants surpasses one thousand people, the organizers will bear legal responsibility for this. No one will arrest the 1001st demonstrator", - Victar Ivashkevich promises.

According to the new law "On Mass Events", the organizers should pay for the work of the police, fire rescuers and doctors at the action. The bill will be issued afterwards….

"They haven't told how much it will be yet. We can send someone to stand with a collecting-box at the action, or maybe we will pay for this from our pensions", — says one of the event's organizer Uladzimir Kolas.

Euroradio has found out that a working hour of the ambulance brigade with a vehicle costs Br 200 thousand. Rental of the Ministry for Emergency Situations' car with a battle squad will cost Br 530 thousand, and this does not include the mileage. Also, the organizers of the action will have to pay the janitors...no less than Br 100 thousand.

Pensions may not cover this…

Apart from the demonstration in the Bangalore Square, they are also planning a concert. According to Victar Ivashkevich, ten bards have already agreed to sing there.

"We have preliminary agreements with Vaitsyushkevich, Shalkevich, Khamenka and Melnikau, and a series of young singers. Lyavon Volski will not be there - he is on tour", - Victar Ivashkevich says.

Chairman of the BPF party Alyaksei Yanukevich promises that this year's Freedom Day will not be an ordinary action.

Alyaksei Yanukevich: "Today we are facing the danger of losing our economic and political independence. In Moscow they are already preparing to divide the official positions in Belarus. The best opportunity to remind about our independence is to come to this action".

Let us remind you, the organizers of the Freedom Day action urge people to gather near the building of the Academy of Sciences at 13/30. After that, there will be a rally to the Bangalore Square and a demonstration there.
