FC “Minsk” to play in capital regardless of mourning
The capital club will welcome “Torpedo-BelAZ” from Zhodzina at the “Torpedo” stadium in Minsk on April 15.
Despite the mourning, the FC “Minsk” and “Torpedo-BelAZ” will play their match of the 4th tour of the Belarusian Football Cup in the capital on April 15. It is not planned to postpone the game or to change the stadium, said Alyaksandr Tomin, press secretary of the capital club, to Euroradio:
“The match will be played at our stadium “Torpedo”. The director will read a special statement aloud and the match will begin with a minute’s silence. It is beyond the club’s scope to postpone the match. Only the federation can deal with such issues”.
The Belarusian Football Federation has confirmed it to Euroradio: the match will take place in Minsk. However, it is not a real home match for FC “Minsk”. The capital players will accept “Torpedo” at the “Torpedo” stadium because the “Dinamo” stadium is temporarily closed and cannot host matches of the national championship.
