EU expects all Belarusian political prisoners to be released
Maya Kocijancic, spokesperson of High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, has informed Euroradio about it.
Kocijancic: "You know the European Union’s position. We would like all political prisoners to be released and acquitted as soon as possible. As far as I know, there are 10 or 12 of them at the moment”.
Let us remind you that Alyaksandr Lukashenka mentioned the possible release of political prisoners earlier today. However, the Belarusian leader noted that only those who would plea for mercy would be released. Those “few” who have not done it, will stay behind bars.
