Diplomat: Belarus has no grounds to keep Sarakashish in custody
Russian Embassy forwarded a note to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry in connection with the detention of a Russian citizen in Minsk.
Former
director of the sanatorium "Belarus" in Sochi Georgiy Sarakashish has
been in custody in a pre-trial detention center for several days already. The
Russian diplomats have not got a permit to meet with him yet.
The Russian Embassy's representative Vladimir
Marchukov admits that Sarakashish may be released from custody.
He thinks that the Russian is suspected in "some economic
violations".
"Such accusations are not considered hard ones. In fact, Belarus has no grounds
to keep the Russian citizen in custody", - RIA Novosti quotes Marchukov.
The detention of Sarakashish's deputy Alyaksandr Kizim was reported earlier.
