CE's Committee of Ministers asks to soften Kanavalau-Kavalyou sentence
The Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers expressed sorrow in connection with the death sentence to Dzmitry Kanavalau and Uladzislau Kavalyou.
In a statement quoted by BelaPAN it is said that the Committee of Ministers strongly condemns the terrorist act in Minsk metro and feels deep sorrow for the victims. Alongside with that, the officials deeply regret about the death sentence and are sure that justice cannot be achieved by more deaths.
The Committee of Ministers asks the Belarusian authorities to impose moratorium for the death penalty in the country.
