Baltic states to boycott energy supplies from Belarusian NPP
It will happen when they manage to prove that the project of the nuclear power plant does not correspond to the international safety regulations.
Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are going to prepare legal acts that will ban the usage of energy produced at the nuclear power plants (NPPs) not corresponding to the international safety regulations. Lithuanian PM Andrius Kubilius has informed about it in an interview with the radio Ziniu radijas on April 21.
"I have to repeat it once again – it will be forbidden to sell energy produced at dangerous NPPs in the Baltic market. We are planning to prepare such legal acts together with our Latvian and Estonian colleagues soon and it will be discussed on the EU’s level”, - claimed Kubilius.
The Lithuanian PM has noted that the issue has already been discussed at the international conference dated for the 25th anniversary of Chernobyl disaster in Kiev, reports the RBK.
