Babruisk stadium has no video surveillance because of lack of money?

The opening of the football season in Navapolatsk and Babruisk has been postponed because of ... bad weather. Thus, "Naftan" (Navapolatsk) is going to play their second home game away.

"We are staying for the game with " Slavia "on April 14, after “Homel"(April 10 - Euroradio), we won’t come home, but go to Mazyr instead. We will live, train and play there. After that, we’ll return and open the football season in Navapolatsk with a game against "Minsk" - says Leanid Padlipski, the club’s President.

In his opinion, the reason for this is the poor spring weather, which established in Belarus. "Naftan" even began to prepare posters and advertisements on television before the match with "Homel". However, they decided to save the grass on their home stadium.

Leanid Padlipski: "It is a torture to play on the field which has not been prepared properly. There may be a totally different result. And, most important, we can damage our field to such an extent that we won't revive it till August".

"Belshyna" (Babruisk) also had pity for the grass on their home field - they are going to play their second home game away, in Zhlobin. The club's General Manager Henadz Varaksa promises that the field in Babruisk will be ready till April 14. There is just one problem - The Internal Affairs Administration of Babruisk city executive committee does not allow playing at "Spartak" stadium.

"In accordance with the requirements, all stadiums must be equipped with video surveillance. But you understand that this is expensive. And the stadiums are mostly owned by local authorities. So, as always, there is not enough money to equip the stadiums with video surveillance. Probably, the Babruisk city executive committee’s internal affairs administration got caught on this point, the requirement of the federation that there must be surveillance, "- chief specialist of the department for competitions of the Football Federation Alyaksandr Chernik explains the situation.

The representative of the Football Federation says that the local authorities of other cities treat the absence of video-cameras with understanding. He hopes that this problem will be solved soon in Babruisk, too. However, the field there has raised doubts and questions for several years already.

There have been no complaints as for the quality of the field in Barysau. Agronomist of the local stadium Anatol Shadzin says that if they take some effort, it is possible to prepare the lawn even in the current weather conditions.

Anatol Shadzin: "The point is, our fields are made in the old way, without the drainage system, as a rule. As far as I know there have been no such fields in Europe since long ago. Of course, the weather influences. However, it is not a secret - clean off the snow earlier and the problem is solved. The soil gets frozen, the water melt and went down. The field wasn't over-moisturized, it had the capacity to accept the moisture."

At present moment, 4 Belarusian stadiums have the third category of FIFA rating of stadiums (Central Stadium in Homel, "Nyoman" in Hrodna, the sports complex "Brest" and Minsk stadium "Dynama"). It is considered that 2 stadiums of the highest category "4" will appear in Belarus after the reconstruction of "Dynama" in Minsk and building a new stadium in Barysau.
