Author of Universal Declaration of Human rights gives bail to Byalyatski

He is the last living author of the Declaration of Human rights, informs the website of “Vyasna”. Hessel is also an honorary President of the Committee of Members of the International Federation for Human Rights.

 

He was a French Resistance fighter and BCRA agent during the war and a Buchenwald survivor. After the war he became a member of the group of experts involved in the drafting of the Universal Declaration of Human rights. He has been working as a diplomat for many years.
