Popular Front's youth leader suspected of hacking

Andrei Krechka, leader of Belarusian Popular Front party's youth wing, is suspected of having hacked the web site of Transport & Logistics company. The police searched his parents' apartment in the morning of June 28. Agents seized Krechka's computer hard drive. "The raid was carried out by police agents from Minsk's Leninski District Police Department. The police officers said they had been approached by a deputy director of Transport & Logistics company who said their web site was hacked by unidentified people.

The police alleged that the site had been hacked from my computer. As a result, I am a suspect in the criminal case over the hacking of that web site. Having searched the apartment, the policemen did not even give my mother a copy of the search protocol", Belapan quotes the activist as saying.

Krechka insists the charges against him are groundless. "I have not idea how to hack web sites and am confident there are political motives behind the raid", says Krechka.
