Political prisoner Artsyom Dubski goes on hunger-strike

An activist of “Malady Front” Artsyom Dubski has gone on a hunger-strike in Babruisk confinement cell. Let us remind you that Asipovichy Court sentenced him to 12 months of imprisonment on July 7. Artsyom’s mother Alena Dubskaya has informed “Radio  Liberty” about the hunger strike after the today’s meeting with her son.

She said that the lawyer had visited Artsyom on July 16 and they had written an appeal. The administration of the confinement cell demanded that the guy should write a request to be delivered to the colony to serve the sentence the following day. According to the law, the convict can stay in the confinement cell until all the institutions his appeal was sent to answer him.  Artsyom told his mother that he had fallen ill but doctors had refused to give him medication and the administration of the colony had created strict conditions for him. Artsyom went on a hunger-strike in response to it.

By the way, Artsyom Dubski has recently starved together with other opposition representatives to express solidarity with Vaukavysk entrepreneurs Mikalai Autuhovich, Yury Lyavonau and Uladzimir Asipenka.
