Phone and mail services to get more expensive in Belarus

Belarus has increased the maximum tariffs for telecommunications services, as well as fixed tariffs for postal services. The increases were conducted in accordance with the Decree #27 of the Ministry of Economy of March 31, 2015, released on April 4 at the National Legal Internet Portal. As reported by Minsk News, the decision will enter into force 5 days after the official publication.

The monthly fee for a basic phone for individuals will cost 21 thousand rubles (now you have to pay 17,650 rubles). Payment for every minute of conversation over the landlines will be 51 rubles. For the landlines, legal entities and individual entrepreneurs will have to pay a monthly fee of 24.5 thousand rubles and 86 rubles per minute.

The cost of postal services will also increase. Sending postcards, letters or parcels weighing up to 20 grams for individuals will cost 3.6 thousand rubles. For every extra 20g of weight it will be necessary to pay 300 rubles.
