Passengers to pay twice for a ride in Minsk Metro?

Passengers will possibly have to pay twice for a ride in the Minsk Metro due to the reconstruction of the Kastrychnitskaya station, Aliaksandr Kaptsyukh, the chief of planning at Minsktrans, tells the European Radio for Belarus. The station will be closed for reconstruction from June 1. During the period of repairs, a free public bus will be in service on the route from Institute of Culture and Victory Square. However, the European Radio for Belarus has learned that passengers will have to pay a ticket when they descend into the tube for the second time after passing the station under reconstruction on bus.

Вось што кажа Аляксандр Капцюх:

"At the moment, entering the Metro for the second time will not be free... There is no final decision yet. Minsk City Hall is yet to voice their stance on this...".

While the authorities are still undecided over the free rides, everything is clear about the free bus. It will run every 1.5 minutes.

The reconstruction of the Kastrychnitskaya Station, where four escalators instead of three will be fixed, was initially to take five month. But Minsk Mayor demanded that the station reopen by September 1.
