New local TV channel to start broadcasting in Pinsk

A new local state TV channel “Pinsk” has appeared in Pinsk. It is going to compete with a non-governmental channel “Varangian”.
An independent TV and radio company “Varangian” broadcasting commercials and licensed programs has been working for 10 years. They make a daily news programme and sometimes they invite local officials to take part in their programs.

However, the local authorities decided to organize a new broadcasting company “Pinsk” two years ago. They allocated a separate building to it, bought equipment and hired the staff. The new channel has only managed to make a weekly news program since then. It was broadcasted on the frequency of its rival – the “Varangian” channel.

The “Pinsk” channel will start broadcasting in June. At the moment it is known that it will broadcast local news, sports reports and films.
