More than 70% of Belarusians planning to vote in presidential election

Over 70% of Belarusian citizens are ready to vote in the upcoming presidential elections. This data has been provided by the Center for Sociological and Political Studies of the BSU. As the head of the center, David Rothman, said in the TV program Halouny Efir (Main broadcast) at the First Channel, this figure is quite relative. In the future, the number of those wishing to vote may increase.

He also noted that the range of the respondents' assessment of the authorities and the opposition is totally opposite - in the range from minus 1 to plus 1 in points. The level of trust in the government is about 0.5, closer to one, and in the opposition - minus 0.5. Mr Rothman calls it "a huge difference."

According to him, the situation in Ukraine affects the increase of confidence in the current government. The head of the sociological center also reported that during the survey, respondents were asked the following question: what will you do if the situation in the country gets worse? About half of the respondents said that they would solve the problem on their own, and a little less than half will wait for better times, BELTA quoted David Rothman.
