Mir, “Vesti” and TNT broadcasted by Cosmos-TV instead of prohibited Russian channels

These channels have not gained popularity yet but they can be broadcasted, said operator of Cosmos-TV to ERB.
Mir, “Vesti” and TNT are broadcasted instead of the forbidden Russian channels ORT, RTR and Ren-TV by Cosmos-TV now. These channels have not gained popularity yet but they can be broadcasted, said an operator of Cosmos-TV to ERB.

Cosmos-TV: “The broadcasting of the channels has been suspended due to the absence of permission of the Belarusian Ministry of Information. These channels cannot be broadcasted in our country”.

Cosmos-TV operators only shrug their shoulders when asked about the reasons for it.

Cosmos-TV: “I cannot answer why. It was an order of the higher instances. ORT, RTR and REN-TV have been replaced with new channels: Mir, “Vesti” and TNT. These channels have not received any remission but we can include them in our package as an alternative to the forbidden channels. I understand that ORT and NTV-Mir were very popular. However, there is no way to broadcast them now. That is why are have started broadcasting some other channels. Cable operators are allowed to broadcast them. It has not been initiated by our company, all cable operators have stopped broadcasting them”.
