Minsk authorities looked for canteen for homeless in church
Representatives of the tax inspectorate, sanitation center, Emergency Control Ministry and police visited a Protestant church “New Life”. They were looking for the food believers gave to homeless people. A lawyer of “New Life” Syarhei Lukanin has informed ERB about it. According to his words, they said it was a scheduled check-up and tried to find out where believers fed the homeless and in what conditions.
Lukanin: "They were interested if we had a canteen in our church. We do feed homeless people, but we do it outside in summer. A smiling policeman asked us to show him to the canteen at the end of the conversation. The delegates returned to work after we had refused them”.
Let us remind you that the conflict between the city authorities and the “New Life” church began in 2005. Officials want to buy the building of the church at a very small price.
