Minority of countries voted for UN resolution – Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affaires

The Belarusian authorities denounce the resolution of the UN third committee about violation of human rights in our country. The press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Andrei Papou has informed about it.
“We are sure that the adoption of the document has no legal or political basis”, - said Papou. He noted that the minority of countries voted for the resolution, reports BelTA.

In fact, 68 countries voted pro, 32- contra and 72 countries abstained. However, the document is considered to be adopted because there were more votes “pro” than “contra”.
