The co-founders of the Belarusian Free Theater, Mikalai Khalezin and Natallia Kalyada, found themselves on the list of those honored in honor of the King's birthday.

"Such pride once again underscores the essence of why we do what we do; and we share it with everyone who has ever been and continues to be a part of our creative process, both on and off stage," Khalezin writes.

The Order of the British Empire is awarded to individuals who have made contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charities and social service organizations, and public service. The awards are made twice a year: on New Year's Day and on the monarch's birthday.
