Lukashenka wants West to recognise parliamentary elections

Belarus has always tried to build good relations with Europe, Alexander Lukashenka said today during an interview with The Financial Times and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
Lukashenka noted economy was pushing Belarus towards an open multi-vector foreign policy. "If you are saying that parliamentary elections are important to you, we have fully opened up the country for you. Please come and observe whether the electoral process, early voting and the polls are in line with our laws", Lukashenka said.

The head of the state stressed that whether the West wants it or not, a new parliament will be elected and it will be decided by the people of Belarus. At the same time, Lukashenka said: "We want you to understand us and recognise our elections".
