Nursultan Nazarbayev, the former president of Kazakhstan, has been found. Aliaksandr Lukashenka knows where he is now. On January 7, BelTA reported on a telephone conversation between Lukashenka and Nazarbayev. They "discussed in detail" the situation in Kazakhstan. It is not specified who called who (although the headline read "Lukashenka called Nazarbayev").

After the beginning of the crisis in Kazakhstan, there was no reliable information about Nursultan Nazarbayev. According to some reports, he stayed in Kazakhstan and had serious health problems (this version was voiced by Russian political analyst Andrey Suzdaltsev). According to other reports, he left the country. President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev assumed the position as head of the Security Council. It is surmised that Tokayev used the situation to push the "Nazarbayev clan" out of power and replaced the ex-president's men with his own.

What can the phone conversation between Lukashenka and Nazarbayev mean? Perhaps the latter is trying to reach out to Moscow through Minsk to negotiate security guarantees. It is possible that Russia is concerned about the silence of the ex-president of Kazakhstan or about the actions of people from his "clan".

The video shows Nazarbayev and Lukashenka on December 28, 2021, in St. Petersburg. The last video with the ex-president of Kazakhstan.
