Lukashenka signs new national security concept plan

Alexander Lukashenka has signed a plan of the timely preparation of the Republic of Belarus for the defense, Belarus' defense minister Yury Zhadobin told reporters on January 11 after a working meeting on the country's military security with the head of the state. The Belarusian leadership was presented with a revised defense plan, Belta news agency quoted Zhadobin as saying. The plan takes into account all factors, including military capabilities as well financial and economic performance of the country.

The defense minister said that the head of the state signed the plan which has become effective since today.

The president was also briefed about the implementation of the Concept of Armed Forces' Building and Development for up to 2020.
