Belarus President Aliaksandr Lukashenka has admitted that he received a gift from American entrepreneur and Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk. Speaking to high-school students in Minsk in front of the Minsk city TV news channel STV camera,  Lukashenka explained why he had refused from commuting to his office by bike before changing the topic to electric cars.

"I have an electric car, a Tesla, and I am testing it sometimes. [Elon] Musk gave it as a present. He saw me on a motorcycle [and said] "listen, he is riding a two-wheels," Lukashenka told students.

The Belarus president did not elaborate on whom exactly Elon Musk had talked to.

On 31 August 2017, Aliaksandr Lukashenka tested on the premises of the Independence Palace in Minsk Tesla's latest model. "It accelerates like a spacecraft," the head of state revealed back then. Lukashenka accelerated up to the speed of 280kmh and feared he was about to become airborne.
